The urgency is palpable, resonating through the air like a charged atmosphere before a storm. The significance of the number 29 degrees is emerging as a recurring theme in astrological discussions and analyses. On Sunday, September 21, 2025, at precisely 3:54 pm, a partial solar eclipse will take place, coinciding with the new moon, which will occur at 29 degrees and 5 minutes of Virgo. This alignment is not merely a celestial event; it carries profound implications for our collective consciousness and societal dynamics. Adding complexity to this situation, the eclipse occurs in direct opposition to the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, a significant astrological alignment that is drawing increasing attention and scrutiny as its date approaches. This conjunction, which is characterized by the interplay of the disciplined, structured energy of Saturn and the ethereal, imaginative qualities of Neptune, is becoming clearer and more pronounced with each passing day.
To understand the weight of this moment, it is essential to consider the cycles of these two planets. Saturn, with a sidereal revolution of approximately 29 years, and Neptune, which takes about 164 years to complete its orbit, form conjunctions every 35 to 36 years. Each time they come together, they shift forward by two or three zodiac signs, indicating a change in the themes and issues that dominate our collective experience. This cyclical nature is crucial for recognizing the patterns in human behavior and societal movements that arise during these times of alignment.
Quoting the renowned French mundane astrologer, André Barbault, we find a compelling interpretation of this celestial relationship: "and the deep nocturnal couple Saturn-Neptune, which is in keeping with the opposite IC: power and prosperity above and misfortune and poverty below. But when hunger brings the wolf out of the forest, human need increases the collective demands of a frustrated population which has no hope. So, this conjunction is about popular insurrections that are usually fired by ideological beliefs." This insight encapsulates the tension that often accompanies the conjunction of these two planets, suggesting that the struggles between authority and the populace can ignite significant social upheaval, particularly when economic or social disparities become too pronounced.
To provide a historical context that underscores the cyclical nature of these conjunctions and their impact on global events, here is a list of past Saturn-Neptune conjunctions along with the significant occurrences that unfolded during those times:
1773 - The Revolt of the English colonies in North America, a pivotal moment that would eventually lead to the formation of a new nation.
1809 - The general uprising of the Spanish colonies in South America, marking a shift towards independence and self-governance.
1846 - The birth of Marxism in 1847, followed by the European Revolution of 1848, which sought to address the inequities of the time.
1882 - The creation of the European Socialist Parties, a response to the changing socio-economic landscape and the rise of labor movements.
1917 - The Russian Revolution, a dramatic upheaval that transformed the political landscape of the country and had global repercussions.
1953 - The death of Stalin, the Battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1954, and the revolution of the nascent Third World, all indicative of a period of intense change and conflict.
1989 - The revolution in Eastern Europe, which saw the fall of communist regimes and a shift towards democracy.
2026 - The future remains uncertain, and the question looms: what significant events will unfold during this upcoming conjunction?
We find ourselves currently navigating a period where Saturn and Neptune are engaged in what could be described as a flirtatious dance. This metaphorical dance involves the two planets drawing closer to one another multiple times before their exact conjunction on February 20, 2026, at 0 degrees of Aries. This particular point in the zodiac is often associated with new beginnings and transformation, suggesting that the energies at play during this conjunction may herald a significant shift in consciousness and societal structures. As we approach this critical juncture, it is essential to remain aware of the underlying currents that may influence collective behavior, as well as the potential for revolutionary ideas and movements to emerge from the depths of societal frustration and aspiration.

This is the 7th new moon which is also a partial solar eclipse since the Aries ingress of 2025, and it carries great significance because it occurs at the 29th degree, is an eclipse, transits the 8th house of the Aries ingress for Washington DC, and is nearly in exact opposition to Neptune in the same chart. In other words, there's a lot happening! Now, we need to analyze these elements in true Virgo style, meticulously dissecting each component to understand the broader implications of this celestial event.
In previous blogs, and most recently in my Libra Ingress 2025 post, I discussed in detail the meaning of the 29th degree in astrology. Quoting myself:
"This particular degree is known as the anaretic degree, a term that carries significant weight in astrological interpretations. The anaretic degree signifies urgency and a sense of finality, as it indicates that something is coming to a close or is in the process of being completed. Additionally, it is imbued with karmic undertones, suggesting that the energies at play are not merely coincidental but rather the culmination of past actions and decisions that are now demanding attention. This degree often acts as a pivotal point, highlighting the need for resolution and the potential for transformation."
In the world of mundane astrology, new moons that are also an eclipse hold powerful significance. Eclipses have been tracked for thousands of years, with ancient civilizations observing their patterns and impacts on human affairs. There are two primary types of eclipses, solar and lunar, each with its unique implications. This particular event is a partial solar eclipse occurring at 29 degrees of Virgo, which indicates that the Sun and Moon align closely in declination, the measurement of their distance north or south of the ecliptic. During this phenomenon, the Sun casts the shadow of the Moon on the Earth, effectively blocking sunlight from reaching certain areas of the planet’s surface, creating a dramatic visual experience.
Typically, eclipses are characterized as harbingers of negative signs, often promising disruptions and upheavals of various forms. A long-held rule in mundane astrology asserts that eclipses exert the most powerful influence in the areas of Earth from which they are visible, while their effects diminish significantly in regions where they are not seen. In the case of this particular eclipse, the partial solar eclipse of September 21, 2025, will primarily be visible in the Southern Hemisphere. The best viewing locations include New Zealand (especially the South Island and Stewart Island) where the eclipse will cover up to 73% of the Sun, parts of Antarctica including research stations (with coverage around 65-70%), and several South Pacific islands such as Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, and the Cook Islands, though coverage there will be smaller (around 17-32%).
The eclipse occurs just one day before the September equinox and will offer dramatic crescent-shaped sunrises or sunsets in these regions. This eclipse will not be visible from Europe, North America, or most of the Northern Hemisphere. It is essential to note that the visibility of the eclipse can influence its impact, with regions witnessing the event possibly experiencing the effects more acutely. A secondary consideration is that an eclipse has a more profound effect on countries for which the eclipse occurs in the sign that is assigned to them. Mundane astrologers differ in opinions as to whether this is a reliable rule. For the record, the United States is not associated as a country with Virgo but rather Gemini. This is because the U.S. declared independence on July 4, 1776, and several of its foundational astrological charts have Gemini rising or are anchored strongly in Gemini themes.
Based on this information, I am choosing to not place the full weight of this partial solar eclipse on the 2025 Aries ingress chart for Washington DC but rather focus on other variables that may provide a more nuanced understanding of its implications. Next on that list of variables would be the fact that this new moon is transiting the 8th house. This particular positioning highlights topics such as foreign trade and investments, trade and economic treaties, and every other form of economic exchange between nations. The 8th house is often associated with deep transformations, shared resources, and the complexities of financial entanglements, making it a critical area of focus during this eclipse. On a more ominous note, this is the house traditionally associated with death and rebirth. Mundane astrologers' antennae go up when matters of the 8th house are activated in a mundane chart, as it can signal profound changes on both personal and collective levels. What gets thrust into the realm of possibilities is the potential deaths of leading politicians or an increase in the death rate of a nation. This is obviously disconcerting to share with you but nonetheless an indication of the astrology that we must consider seriously.

Adding to the worrisome plot is a difficult or what in mundane terms is called a hostile aspect between this new moon and planet Neptune, which is positioned at 29 degrees and domiciled in the 2nd house of the Aries ingress chart. Neptune itself, as a standalone planet in the realm of mundane astrology, represents mass phenomena, societal trends, and forces that emerge from the collective experiences of the majority of the populace, particularly those who often find themselves marginalized or excluded from the influential classes. These individuals are typically given only a nominal role in the political process, leading to a sense of disenfranchisement. In other words, this aspect highlights the struggles of those who feel their voices do not matter in the grand scheme of governance. Further, Neptune serves as a significator of populism and grassroots movements that arise in response to such feelings of alienation. This dynamic is, of course, a loud echo of the historical implications associated with Saturn-Neptune conjunctions, which have often marked periods of significant social upheaval and transformation.
Drilling down to the next level, let's briefly examine the meanings attributed to both the Sun and Moon being in opposition to Neptune, which is a defining characteristic of a new moon. First, the Sun, when opposed to Neptune, has historically been interpreted as signaling a message of potential downfall or collapse. According to the insights of mundane astrologer H.S. Green, this aspect suggests that "something in the nature of downfall or collapse takes place." Joseph Michael Greer expands on this interpretation by attributing matters such as "confusion, disorder, and the failure of legislation or policy" to this aspect, along with the emergence of "lurid scandals." He even goes so far as to include the alarming possibility of "the government being at risk of being thrown out of power, either through elections or by some less formal means." Furthermore, various astrologers have noted that during this transit, there is often a heightened risk to the position, reputation, or even the life of important political figures, indicating a turbulent atmosphere in the political landscape.
Adding further fuel to the fire, when the Moon is opposite Neptune through a hostile aspect, the implications suggest that the political class fails to adequately listen to the concerns and grievances of the general population. This failure can lead to a significant surge of resentment and hostility from the people, creating a volatile environment. This aspect has a strong correlation with class conflict, revealing the widening chasm between the ruling elite and the everyday citizen. As is the case with the Sun's opposition to Neptune, this aspect to the Moon is also associated with lurid scandals and crimes that come to light, further eroding public trust. Consequently, the support of the people for their leaders and institutions begins to wane, as the disconnect between the political elite and the populace becomes increasingly evident.
As I sit here writing these interpretations, the country is reeling from the recent assassination of a well-known young religious leader and podcaster, Charlie Kirk, who held a significant and popular voice among Millennials. He was undeniably a leader of a populist movement that resonated with many young people, drawing them into discussions about faith, politics, and social issues. This unfortunate event fits squarely into the narrative of the current astrological landscape, particularly the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries, which first got activated back on July 16th of this year when they brushed within 12 minutes of each other. The tumult and uncertainty that have characterized this period will likely continue to unfold in the coming months. This particular sad and tragic development also bears the signature of the aforementioned lurid scandals and crimes, many of which we may learn more about as time progresses, revealing deeper layers of complexity within the political and social fabric of the nation.
Other considerations beyond these troublesome and stressful possibilities include the additional matters represented by the houses involved, specifically the 2nd and 8th houses. Essentially, this new moon is resonating with the dominant theme of this astrological new year, which encompasses all things related to our nation's financial well-being in contrast to the economic conditions of countries with which we maintain relationships.
Expect that these topics will reach some level of urgency or a critical turning point, especially given the significance of the 29 degrees in both the Aries ingress chart and the Libra ingress chart, which further amplifies the potential for transformative developments in these areas.
On a more positive note, it is worth mentioning that Neptune is domiciled in Pisces in the 2nd house of the Aries ingress chart and rules this house as well, which can be viewed as a favorable indication. This positioning suggests that there is potential for spiritual and creative insights to influence financial matters positively. However, the complexities arise due to a substantial portion of this same house being occupied by Aries, which is ruled by a Mars in Fall in Cancer. Additionally, the presence of Mercury and Venus also domiciled in Aries but both severely afflicted complicates matters further. Essentially, as discussed in the Aries Ingress of 2025 blog, the country's financial situation, influenced by these factors, appears to be mixed and muddled at best, reflecting the broader uncertainties and challenges facing the nation as it navigates through this tumultuous astrological period.
As I elaborated in my Libra Ingress 2025 blog, there exists a vast expanse of analysis that can be undertaken concerning both the astrological chart of that ingress and the current 7th new moon lunation chart. In my exploration, I have endeavored to encapsulate the highlights, and for some of you, it may be fair to label them as low lights, with the intention of fostering a deeper awareness within you, the reader, regarding the current astrological climate in which we find ourselves navigating. It is essential to recognize that my perspective as an astrologer is to serve as an unbiased messenger, conveying the messages of the cosmos without personal bias. When I observe positive influences in the celestial alignments, I make it a point to highlight them, just as I do when I identify potential challenges or negatives. However, as a Shaman, my approach differs in that I aim to share interpretations and visions that astrology can illuminate, extending a sense of understanding and connection to the energies at play. I feel a profound sense of responsibility to bless and support all individuals who form part of the community I am dedicated to serving. This includes not only those with whom I engage in a healing capacity but also you, the readers who partake in the written insights I share.

Life is a complex tapestry woven with ups and downs, moments of feast and famine, experiences of bliss and despair, as well as health and sickness. All of these elements are integral to the human journey and contribute to the rich fabric of our existence. How we navigate these polarities can significantly influence our soul's evolution, either adding to or subtracting from our progress on this spiritual quest. It is crucial to understand that the most significant developments on this journey are those that transpire within us, rather than those that occur in the external world around us. A poignant illustration of this concept can be found in a memorable scene from the 1997 film Contact. In this cinematic moment, Jodie Foster portrays Dr. Eleanor "Ellie" Arroway, a dedicated scientist working with the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). She discovers compelling evidence of extraterrestrial life and is selected as the candidate to make first contact with an alien civilization. As she awaits transport in a specially designed ship, the environment outside erupts into a chaotic display of fiery sparks and electrical currents, prompting those in the control facility to inquire about her well-being. In stark contrast to the tumultuous scene unfolding outside, Dr. Arroway experiences a profound sense of tranquility within the ship. She calmly reassures the control team, stating, "I'm okay to go," conveying her comfort and safety amidst the apparent violence and instability surrounding her vessel. This striking contrast highlights the surreal nature of her journey; while the exterior environment suggests imminent danger and catastrophic energy, the interior of the ship feels remarkably serene and protective.
In light of this, may we aspire to cultivate a similar state of being in our own lives. The world around us is currently projecting a chaotic and fiery quality, filled with uncertainty and turbulence. It is your personal mission, much like Dr. Arroway's, to remain serene and at peace, holding steadfast in the knowledge that all is unfolding in divine order and that this tumultuous phase shall eventually pass. By nurturing our inner calm and embracing the tranquility within, we can navigate the storms of life with grace and resilience, allowing our souls to progress on their unique paths.
