The upcoming new moon in May will take place on May 26th at 11:02 pm in Washington DC, positioned at 6 degrees and 5 minutes of Gemini. This marks the third new moon since the spring equinox on March 20, 2025. For readers of my "Lunar Promptings" blog, the emphasis is on how each new moon interacts with the Aries Ingress chart for 2025 (refer to the ingress chart below). When analyzing an Aries ingress chart, it's crucial to consider the rising sign, as it dictates the chart's duration. If a cardinal sign (Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn) is rising, the chart is valid for only 3 months, until the next Cancer ingress. With a mutable sign (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces), the chart remains effective for 6 months, until the subsequent Libra ingress. Lastly, in the case of the 2025 Aries Ingress, if the rising sign is a fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius), the chart will be relevant for the entire year, until the next Aries Ingress. In the 2025 chart, Aquarius rises at 8 degrees and 47 minutes, meaning the chart will influence matters until spring 2026.
Looking at this through another lens, if the ingress year acts as the hour hand on the economic and political affairs of a country, lunations are the minute hand. Specifically, mundane astrologers look at the new moon lunations each month to determine areas of focus for a one month period until the next new moon. In Lunar Promptings I & II I have done this... Now we move into a new moon in Gemini transiting the 4th house. This will be impacting matters until the next new moon on June 25, 2025.

The 4th house of an ingress chart represents a variety of topics. Traditionally, the 4th house is the land of a nation, its crops and produce, and its mines. Additionally, its the nation's real estate (buildings) and its value. It also represents the people as opposed to the government, and the opposition party to the in power. The 4th also represents the nation's weather. With the new moon transiting the 4th house the first observation is that all of these matters become active. As discussed in previous blogs, the condition of the ruler of a house in an ingress chart influences the affairs of that house. In this case, the 4th house has Taurus on the cusp, thus the ruler is an Aries Venus Rx domiciled in the 2nd house. Venus's presence in Aries, a sign of its detriment, and its retrograde status at the spring equinox, casts a significant shadow of weakness over the affairs of the 3rd and 4th houses where it rules.
With the ruler of the 4th house being debilitated and Jupiter, which is domiciled in the 4th house in Gemini, in detriment, the matters of this house are inclined towards events that are challenging, difficult, and less than ideal. Even though a debilitated Jupiter in or ruling the 4th can still offer some benefits, it is more likely that troubles will accompany any good fortune. This period might reveal issues related to graft and corruption in agricultural affairs or events concerning the food supply itself. There could also be challenging news about crops and produce. In the real estate sector, difficulties might arise regarding new home sales, commercial real estate values, or declines in construction. Additionally, there might be occurrences in the mining or drilling industries, as the 4th house pertains to anything underground. Could there be revelations about underground activities previously unknown to us?

Anciently, Jupiter in a mundane chart according to H.S. Green has been associated with churches, clergy, and ministers of any sect. It is also correlated to judges, bankers, physicians, and the nobility. Mundane astrologer Raphael also mentions these and adds lawyers and merchants. Finally, John Michael Greer associates Jupiter with big business, a nation's corporations and its culture. Greer argues that in earlier eras religious bureaucracies were more of major political force but he has found in more modern times Jupiter is highly correspondent with the corporate sector.
Interestingly, as this blog is being written, we are already observing certain themes that might become more pronounced during the period influenced by this new moon. This celestial event often serves as a catalyst for new beginnings and transformations, and its effects can ripple through various aspects of our lives and society. If we consider Jupiter as a symbol of the judiciary and the courts, and acknowledge the ongoing daily conflict between the judiciary and the new administration in Washington, it becomes evident that this is one of the narratives emerging from the Aries Ingress 2025. The dynamics at play during this period are complex and multifaceted, reflecting the intricate dance between power, governance, and the rule of law.

What we are witnessing is without precedent, as the relationship between the judiciary and the executive branch has reached a critical juncture. The tensions are palpable, and they manifest in various forms, from legal challenges to public discourse surrounding the legitimacy of judicial decisions. Depending on your political perspective, you may feel strong support for one side or the other, which only serves to deepen the divide within the populace. The astrology indicates a judiciary in a challenging position, particularly with Jupiter situated in Gemini. This placement can be interpreted as a metaphorical representation of a courtroom filled with conflicting voices and opinions, where clarity is often obscured by the cacophony of debate.
In this context, the judiciary feels like it is caught in a difficult situation, akin to being at the in-laws or in an uncomfortable place where you are misunderstood. Instead of making a positive impression and being accommodated, the planet faces scrutiny and struggles to satisfy those around it. This struggle is emblematic of the judiciary's efforts to maintain its integrity and independence while navigating the turbulent waters of political influence and public opinion. The planet finds it difficult or laborious to express itself, as it grapples with the weight of expectations and the challenge of upholding justice in an environment fraught with contention.
Moreover, this astrological configuration suggests that the judiciary may tend to stray from its natural tendencies, which typically include impartiality and a commitment to the rule of law. Instead, it may become reactive, influenced by the surrounding political climate, and this could lead to decisions that are perceived as biased or inconsistent. This precarious position underscores the importance of vigilance and advocacy for judicial independence, as the integrity of the legal system is crucial for the health of democracy itself.
As we move forward, it will be essential to observe how these themes evolve and manifest in the coming months. The interplay between the judiciary and the administration will likely continue to be a focal point, with potential implications for legislation, public policy, and societal norms. The new moon serves as a reminder that while challenges may arise, they also present opportunities for growth, reflection, and ultimately, transformation. The path ahead may be fraught with obstacles, but it also holds the potential for a renewed commitment to justice and the principles that underpin our legal system.
Taking this analysis to the next level, in the Aries Ingress chart of 2025, we observe a significant astrological configuration where Jupiter is positioned in direct opposition to the Moon, which is notably domiciled in the 10th house of the chart. This particular alignment is crucial to understanding the dynamics at play during this period. Jupiter, traditionally associated with the judiciary, law, and broader philosophical principles, finds itself in a house that symbolizes the opposition to the party currently in power. This configuration suggests that the judiciary may be poised to take on a more assertive role, acting as a counterbalance or challenger to the ruling party, which could lead to notable judicial actions or decisions that reflect this opposition.

In stark contrast, the Moon, which naturally rules the 4th house, is situated in the 10th house, representing the government and its authority. This positioning indicates that the planet representing the collective emotions and needs of the populace is in a place of tension, as it is involved in an opposition aspect with Jupiter. This opposition is significant as it symbolizes a clash of agendas; the Moon, embodying the sentiment of the people, is at odds with the judicial authority represented by Jupiter. Astrologically, this opposition fosters an environment characterized by seesaw swings of public sentiment and policy, leading to challenging differences that may manifest in various societal conflicts and debates. Moreover, the placement of both Jupiter and the Moon in angular houses—specifically the 4th and 10th houses—further amplifies the prominence of this conflict.
Angular houses are associated with action, visibility, and significant life events, suggesting that the issues arising from this opposition will not only be prominent but may also lead to pivotal moments in the political landscape. The angular nature of these houses indicates that the repercussions of this opposition will likely be felt widely and may influence the course of governance and public opinion. Mundane astrologer H.S. Green provides an insightful perspective on the implications of such a challenging aspect between the Moon and Jupiter. He notes that when these two celestial bodies are in opposition, there exists a heightened potential for "trouble, confusion, extravagance or scandal in connection with religious and charitable movements and with prisons; scandals or long involved cases in the law courts; mysterious crimes; not good for the health of the nation."
This observation underscores the multifaceted nature of the challenges that may arise during this period, indicating that societal unrest could manifest through various channels, including legal controversies, public scandals, and broader concerns regarding the welfare of the nation. The potential for confusion and extravagance suggests that resources may be mismanaged or misallocated, leading to further societal strain. In summary, the interplay between Jupiter and the Moon in the Aries Ingress chart of 2025 paints a complex picture of potential judicial challenges, public discontent, and political upheaval. The astrological dynamics at play indicate a period where the tension between authority and the collective will of the people may lead to significant developments that could shape the political landscape for years to come.
If we look at Jupiter in the 4th house through the interpretation of mundane astrologer John Michael
Greer he suggests there are additional topics at play, delving into the intricate relationship between religion, politics, and corporate influence in contemporary society. He argues that, historically, religions and their leaders wielded considerable influence over political matters, shaping governance and societal norms through their doctrines and moral guidelines. This historical dominance of religious institutions often dictated the political landscape, creating a symbiotic relationship where both entities benefited from one another's power.
However, Greer posits that in the current era, the dynamics have shifted significantly. He believes that today, the planet Jupiter, often associated with expansion, authority, and abundance, is more closely aligned with the power of the corporate sector and big business, which have increasingly become the dominant forces in shaping policy and public opinion. With all other variables remaining constant, Jupiter in detriment and in a challenging opposition to the Moon could also suggest that this theme of competing agendas and challenging differences extends to the ongoing conflict between the populace and large corporations. This tension is not merely a passing issue; it encapsulates a broader struggle over values, priorities, and the very fabric of democracy itself. For many years, there have been growing warnings about the insidious influence of corporate money in politics, as businesses leverage their financial power to sway legislation and public policy in their favor, often at the expense of the average citizen's interests.

This phenomenon raises critical questions about the integrity of democratic processes and the extent to which everyday voices can be heard amidst the cacophony of corporate lobbying and financial influence. Moreover, like other possibilities already discussed, this new moon may serve as a catalyst, triggering significant events related to this ongoing conflict of interest. It could urge our country to confront and address the troubling shadow of corporate influence that has loomed over our democracy for far too long. The new moon symbolizes new beginnings and opportunities for reflection and change, prompting individuals and communities to re-evaluate their relationship with power structures. As we navigate this complex landscape, it becomes increasingly essential to consider how we can restore balance and ensure that the interests of the many are not overshadowed by the ambitions of the few. This period may ultimately challenge us to reclaim our democratic values and strive for a system that prioritizes the well-being of all citizens over corporate profit margins.
One final correlation I wish to address is the intricate connection of Jupiter with churches, clergy, and ministers, which deserves a deeper exploration given the current socio-cultural landscape. Unless you have been hanging out in a cave, it is evident that people are searching for meaning like never before, driven by a profound yearning for connection, purpose, and understanding in a world filled with uncertainty. Traditional religions, once the bedrock of community and moral guidance, have been in a noticeable decline for many years. This decline is evidenced by the steady decrease in church attendance across various demographics, particularly among younger generations who are increasingly seeking answers outside conventional religious frameworks. This generational shift in beliefs is accompanied by a burgeoning interest in alternative forms of faith and spirituality, including New Age beliefs, secular humanism, and various holistic practices that emphasize personal experience over doctrinal adherence.

With Jupiter, the planet traditionally associated with growth, expansion, and higher learning, being debilitated in the astrological chart and situated in a house where its ruler is also debilitated, it is reasonable to postulate that there will be struggles or troubles associated with churches and clergy arising throughout the period covered by the Aries Ingress of 2025. This astrological positioning suggests a time when the institutions that have long provided spiritual guidance may face significant challenges, including potential crises of faith among their congregants, scandals involving clergy, or even broader societal questions regarding the relevance of organized religion in modern life.
Furthermore, the Moon's opposition to Jupiter adds another layer of complexity to this situation. H.S. Green, as previously cited, indicates that this alignment could lead to "trouble, confusion, extravagance or scandal in connection with religious and charitable movements." This implies that during this period, we may witness not only the internal struggles of faith communities but also external controversies that could arise from their actions or the actions of their leaders. The potential for scandal could manifest in various forms, such as financial mismanagement, ethical dilemmas, or public relations crises, which could further erode trust in these institutions. As people continue to seek meaning and connection in their lives, the way forward for churches and clergy may require a reevaluation of their roles within society. There may be a pressing need for these traditional institutions to adapt to the changing landscape of belief and spirituality, finding ways to engage with a populace that is increasingly skeptical of established norms. The upcoming period, marked by these astrological influences, could serve as a pivotal moment for reflection and transformation within religious organizations, challenging them to redefine their missions and to reconnect with individuals in a more authentic and meaningful way.
In the Aries Ingress chart, Jupiter (symbolizing churches) in the 4th house is intricately linked with a retrograde Venus in detriment, ruling the 4th and 3rd houses, and positioned in the 2nd house. This association ties together financial matters (2nd house), secondary education (3rd house), and churches represented by Jupiter. As I write this blog, a contentious legal case is unfolding in Oklahoma. The St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School, a K-12 online charter school, aims to become the first religious charter school in the nation, located in Oklahoma. This initiative is led by the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and the Diocese of Tulsa. The Oklahoma Supreme Court previously denied the school's funding, citing potential violations of the separation of church and state. The case has now reached the U.S. Supreme Court, with arguments heard in late April 2025. The Supreme Court is expected to issue a decision during the period of the New Moon in Gemini, which encourages looking at all perspectives, lasting until June 25, 2025.
I also feel it is important to mention that many mundane astrologers have noted that the presence of Jupiter in a state of debility within the 4th house, which governs land and buildings, has been cited as an indicator of the potential for earthquakes. This interpretation is particularly significant when Jupiter is afflicted by challenging aspects such as a square or opposition, which, in this case, it is indeed experiencing. The implications of this astrological configuration warrant careful consideration, as the 4th house is not only related to physical structures but also symbolizes the foundations of our lives, our homes, and the very ground we stand upon. Therefore, the positioning of Jupiter here can evoke concerns about stability and security, especially when it is under the influence of difficult aspects that may exacerbate its already weakened state.

Of additional note, Uranus, which resides in the fixed earth sign of Taurus and is traditionally associated with sudden and unpredictable events such as earthquakes, will reach the anaretic 29th degree on June 17, 2025. This is a critical juncture in astrological terms, as the anaretic degree often signifies a culmination or a point of urgency, amplifying the energy of the planet involved. The timing of this event coincides with the period during which this new moon chart is in effect, adding another layer of complexity to the situation. The combination of these two factors—Jupiter's debility in the 4th house and Uranus's powerful position in Taurus—gives this astrologer considerable pause. It also instills a sense of hope that this particular potentiality does not manifest into reality, as the consequences of such an event could be profound and far-reaching.
This leads me to another important point about astrology that is crucial for anyone engaging with this discipline to understand. You may have noticed that I often use the term "potentiality" in my discussions. This word could also be substituted with "tendency," which more accurately reflects the nature of astrological insights. Astrology provides a framework of probabilities rather than certainties, allowing us to understand the influences at play without dictating outcomes. There is an old maxim that states, "the stars incline; they do not compel." This wisdom serves as a reminder that while astrological configurations can suggest certain trends or possibilities, they do not force events to occur. It is always worth keeping this perspective in mind, as it encourages a balanced approach to interpreting astrological signs and fosters an understanding that we are not merely at the mercy of celestial forces, but rather that we have agency in how we respond to these influences.
As we approach the third new moon since the astrological new year in March, it's an opportune moment to pause and take that proverbial deep breath, allowing ourselves to reflect on the profound shifts occurring in our lives and the world around us. This particular new moon serves as a reminder of the cyclical nature of time and the opportunities for renewal and fresh beginnings that each lunar phase brings. Astrologers have been looking toward the year 2025 for many years now, with a growing consensus that it represents a significant pivot point for humanity—a moment of generational change that could redefine the trajectory of our collective experience. The energetic landscape is shifting dramatically, as we witness the outer planets transitioning into new signs. Notably, Pluto is moving into Aquarius, a sign associated with innovation, humanitarianism, and collective consciousness. This transition is expected to bring about profound transformations in societal structures and power dynamics, urging us to rethink our relationships with technology and community. Similarly, Neptune's movement into Aries heralds a time of awakening and assertiveness in our spiritual pursuits, encouraging individuals to embrace their unique identities and forge new paths. Meanwhile, Uranus entering Gemini signifies a period of rapid change in communication and information exchange, prompting us to adapt to new ideas and perspectives at an unprecedented pace. These shifts are not merely astrological curiosities; they mark a significant energetic transformation that can take our collective breath away as we gasp for air in the face of such monumental change.
The transpersonal planets, Jupiter and Saturn, are also making their own transitions, with Jupiter moving into Cancer and Saturn into Aries. Jupiter, known for its expansive and optimistic qualities, will encourage nurturing and emotional growth, while Saturn's entry into Aries will challenge us to take responsibility for our actions and assert our individuality. Together, these planetary movements represent more than just personal influences; they embody the collective and generational influences that shape our society and our future.
Indeed, it is a remarkable time to be here, witnessing these cosmic shifts unfold. However, amidst the chaos and uncertainty that often accompany such changes, it is crucial to cultivate a sense of inner peace. Remember to strive to be the observer first, allowing yourself to witness the unfolding events without becoming overly emotionally invested in the upsets, disturbances, and changes that may arise. By maintaining this observer perspective, you can prevent these external fluctuations from occupying too much of your precious consciousness and energy. Instead, focus on raising your personal vibration. This is not merely a metaphysical concept; it is a practical approach to navigating the complexities of life during this transformative period. By nurturing your inner peace and embodying your highest self, you not only enhance your own experience but also radiate positive energy to those around you. In doing so, you contribute to the collective upliftment of humanity, encouraging others to rise to their highest potential as well. Embrace this time of transition, and know that everything is unfolding in perfect order, even if it may not always be immediately apparent. By bringing forth your best self, you will inspire others to do the same, creating a ripple effect of positivity and growth in this pivotal era.
