Barbault's Bliss

Whomp!!!
On July 1st, a Leo Jupiter will be in a square aspect to a Taurus Chiron. From the very start, we encounter a transit that symbolizes societies and cultures being compelled to face their shared vulnerabilities, let go of limiting beliefs, and transform collective pain into shared wisdom. This marks a significant breakthrough period for healing and empowerment at the cultural level. Given the signs of Jupiter and Chiron, more specifically, we might encounter issues where money, value, pleasure, talent, and recognition get stirred up. The conversations being had might focus on resources, self-esteem, livelihood, and what people consider worth protecting.
Next up on July 2nd, transiting Mars will be square to the nodal axis, which is currently comprised of a Virgo south node and a Pisces north node. For the record, transiting Mars squares the nodal axis approximately two times each year. The timing is roughly every 5-7 months. Briefly, what this signals is the activation of the current karmic crossroads. Old patterns (south node) are being presented with a choice point to consciously move toward a growth path (north node). What is being challenged at this time is for the collective to release perfectionism, over-analysis, and the need to control in favor of faith, surrender, and trust.
Throughout the rest of July 2026, a significant series of transits involving Mars, Venus, Jupiter, and the Sun will occur in relation to what I regard as the most important astrological event of 2026: the mini-grand trine between Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. I have decided to name this phenomenon Barbault's Bliss. Below is an explanation of why and an exploration of its potential impact on society as a whole.
The Barbault Basket 🧺
On October 8, 2019, famous French astrologer, André Barbault, passed away at the age of 98. Barbault was most known for his work in the world of mundane astrology, which connects world events to planetary cycles. He was a prolific author, writing over 30 books. His most notable predictions include the collapse of the Soviet Union years before it happened, the 2008-2010 global economic crisis, and the global pandemic of 2020.
Before his death, he also wrote about the momentous configuration that will occur this month, July 2026, what I will refer to as a mini-grand trine, but what has also come to be known also as "Barbault's basket". Specifically, this will be pattern involving the outer planets, with a network of harmonious aspects anchored by a single opposition. The celestial alignment Barbault was referring to will involve Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, all arranged so that three sextiles, two trines, and one opposition create what will appear to be a "basket" shape. See below:

As can be seen in the above chart, on this date, Jupiter in Leo at 4 degrees and 26 minutes will be in an opposition aspect to Pluto in Aquarius at 4 degrees and 26 minutes. This is the handle of the basket. This is also the tension point, because while the transpersonal planets are aligned in a favorable trine and two sextiles, this important opposition that seems to indicate a place where integration will be required.
Barbault regarded this particular astrology as a collective turning point and specifically did not interpret it as a crisis indicator. Notably, he observed that it signified the conclusion of a prolonged chaotic cycle and the start of a new one. He warned that this change would not occur instantly but would instead initiate a shift spanning decades. It involves a comprehensive re-evaluation of everything we have believed and constructed. This is why I have termed this "Barbault's bliss," as he is, in many ways, suggesting an era that will appear more utopian in nature.
Pieces and Parts ⚙️
First let's start with some context. In researching the mini-grand trine occurring between a Gemini Uranus, Aries Neptune, and an Aquarius Pluto I used my Solar Fire software to run a search looking all of the times since 10,000 BC during which Uranus in Gemini, was trine to Pluto in Aquarius, and in turn they were both forming sextiles to Neptune in Aries. Here are the results of that search:

Yes... according to this, we have not seen this particular cosmic configuration ever before, or least since 10,000 BC. There may some date prior to that, but I had to choose some line in the sand. As you might now be realizing, this is why the astrological community is pointing in unison saying "something big" is about to unfold.
Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto started forming a mini grand trine that began to come into alignment in mid‑2022. The pattern emerged, faded, and then reformed more consistently from 2023 into 2024, before becoming fully established in the mid‑2020s. On July 6, 2026, at 8:12 am EST in Washington DC, Uranus moves into the 4th degree of Gemini, positioning all three outer planets in the 4th degree. This alignment will be maintained, at this degree of their respective signs, until July 31, 2026, when Uranus advances into the 5th degree of Gemini.
We are observing the alignment of these outer planets in air and fire signs. This period is unique, offering a harmonious interaction between innovation (Uranus), spirituality (Neptune), and transformation (Pluto), suggesting a possible collective breakthrough or paradigm shift towards intellectual freedom and groundbreaking actions. In other words:
Pluto in Aquarius represents collective evolution
Uranus in Gemini represents radical ideas and communications
Neptune in Aries inspired actions in the realm of visions and identity
The Nuance 🔮
Several other factors are influencing this historic cosmic pattern. On February 20, 2026, we witnessed another rare and significant astrological event when Saturn and Neptune were aligned at 0 degrees of Aries, the point of the spring equinox. This alignment is exceptionally uncommon, last occurring in 4361 BC. It is also perceived as a kind of societal reset (unfortunately, Saturn/Neptune conjunctions have historically been strongly associated with wars). Essentially, Saturn, the planet symbolizing old structures, institutional rules, and restrictions, is trying to coexist with Neptune, the planet representing visions, dreams, idealism, and the dissolution of things. With both in Aries, this often results in a conflict.
What this particular conjunction has ultimately wrought is yet to be determined. As readers are probably aware, we are currently engaged in a war.
What is striking about July is that there will be a parade of planets activating (translation: forming meaningful aspects to) the mini-grand trine between Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto throughout the month.
Those include Mars, Venus, Jupiter and the Sun.
Shortly after Mars activates the nodal axis on July 2nd, Mars will form an opposition to Uranus on the United States birthday, July 4th. Additionally, on the same day Mars will be sextile to Neptune. And then finally on July 5th it will be in a trine aspect to Pluto. Think of this as a cosmic fireworks show. Mars provokes action, friction, urgency, or a concrete event that brings a slower theme into focus. Mars is extending a long stick that has a flame on it toward this mysterious triangular package.
The initial point of contact for this flame is the highly volatile Uranus. When Mars forms an opposing aspect to Uranus, it is typically seen as a time marked by abrupt changes, accidents, breakthroughs, rebellion, or impulsive behavior. This is definitely a moment to brace yourself. It's crucial to keep in mind that Mars is functioning as a catalyst here, driving the further progression of the larger outer-planet narrative, often triggering an event that plays a key role in the unfolding larger story.
Mars is also in a sextile aspect with Neptune on July 4th, pinging another point of this triangle. This seems to be associated with the opening of a clean channel in which the Uranus activation can flow. Sextiles are generally considered favorable or cooperative, however, given the dynamics at play, it's quite possible what this free-flowing channel gets filled with are Neptunian energies that correlate with confusion, weakened boundaries, diminished clarity, or actions being taken based on foggy or vague motives or understanding. What this could mean is a sudden event that quickly creates confusion.
The next day on July 5th, Mars forms a trine to Pluto. Here again we have an easy flow of energy that could indicate the explosive event(s) that get triggered by Mars in opposition to Uranus occur with little resistance or effort. And what might those be? With Pluto involved we are diving into the realm of intensity, power struggles, crisis responses, and something transformative in nature.
This period will be a time where things could arise suddenly, be disruptive, and create some level of shock.
In mid-July, the fast-moving transiting Venus will make a series of challenging aspects to this same mini-grand trine. On July 13th, Venus will square Uranus and form a quincunx to Neptune and Pluto. What Venus serves as for triggering purposes is that it points to events correlated to relational matters, financial or material decisions, or shifts in values or desire. In this case, given the tense square to Uranus, expect surprise, change, and nonconformity to materialize in the realm of relationships and values. This could also manifest as some type of financial shock.
Whatever shockwaves emanate from Venus' tense rumba with Uranus, appear to be destined to create either a revelation of a blind spot that we were not seeing or a major adjustment that now must be made when Venus finds herself quincunx to Neptune and Pluto. Perhaps something in the financial world becomes blurred, foggy, or confusing that rises to the level problematic. Or maybe there are some intense and transformative developments in relational matters that creates the need to pivot in some way. Given its Pluto, these things may emerge from the shadows and initiate catalytic experiences intertwined with power dynamics.
But wait, there's more!
Larger-than-life and expansive Jupiter also enters a float in the parade on July 20th. Much like Mars and Venus, Uncle Jove brings a trine, opposition, and sextile to the show. Being slower moving than the two personal planets, Mars and Venus, transiting Jupiter is associated with deeper activation that is tied more directly to generational themes. The unfurling of what it might bring is usually a months-long period of evolvement. Jupiter transits are commonly interpreted as related to expansion, things opening up, meaning making, and also the potential for overextension and excess.
So, the opening salvo will be a trine to Neptune and an opposition to Pluto. The opposition to Pluto marks a time during which tensions, challenges, and events related to beliefs and expansion take center stage. Given the nature of these transits that began the month with Mars and Venus, this part of the developing narrative brings a powerfully intense uptick to what has already commenced. What could play out is a deep shift in beliefs, power dynamics, resources, or life direction. In the astrological world, a Jupiter/Pluto transit is considered particularly potent and long-lasting. It's linked to major life changes, rebirth, and growth that seem on the fated side of things. Of special note is the additional correlation of Jupiter with belief, especially those that are practiced by formal religions. It also connects to royalty and crowns.
The reason I make note of these correspondences is due to the nature of the mini-grand trine we are examining. It began with a collision of the old guard, which is comprised of governments, corporations, and religions, Saturn, being confronted by the abstract, consciousness focused, divinity seeking, and dissolving waters of Neptune, flooding traditional structures under a wave of new dreams and inspiration. Strict rules vs. nuanced solutions.
Then, when we consider that the energies feeding the fire of these two disparate planetary bodies, Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius, there seems to be a loud message that emerges. Uranus in Gemini brings thoughts of revolutionary changes, progressive ideologies, innovative technology, messages of awakening, disruptive news, and restless revolts. This, in turn, is in a favorable dance with Pluto in Aquarius that cries out for power to the people, unconventional reforms, disruptive disempowerment, societal metamorphosis, and human evolution. Suffice it to say, this mini triangle makes a large clang that cannot be ignored. My suspicion is that the Jupiter transit takes this energy to a whole new level. Picture a boisterous and jovial Jupiter pulling up to a triangle-shaped window and shouting, "Let's biggie size that?"
The final touches of this historic parade feature the king of our universe, the Sun. After having shifted into the sign of Leo on July 22nd, ushering in the middle of summer, this attention-seeking, bold, and dramatic energy does its own magic on Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. This all takes place on July 27th. On that day, the Sun will be opposite Pluto, trine Neptune, and sextile Uranus. What this represents is an annual cycle that connects identity, purpose, and visibility with the deep generational themes of the outer planets. The Sun also represents consciousness, and as such, the potentially transformational spiritual awakenings that are being forecast finish the month by linking up with Apollo.
What is striking about the month ending on this note is that the Sun will oppose Pluto. The message is intense, transformative experiences around our identity and purpose. This can also portend deep inner confrontations that force change. A rebirth of sorts that causes old roles, identities, or ambitions to fall away. The trine from Neptune and sextile from Uranus likely represent an opportunistic dissolution of the old as well as a shocking enlightenment surrounding who we are.
Barbault's Bliss ✨
Returning now to our French seer, André Barbault. He referred to this one-of-a-kind mini-grand trine as "the most beautiful configuration of the 21st century." Given his track record of accurate astrological prediction, it is not my intent to argue his take. In other places, he called it "the peak of a civilizational turning point." I believe he is correct. However, I would compare what is occurring now and will get louder over the coming months and years to the equivalent of watching a baby be born. Anyone who has witnessed a birth knows it's often an arduous and messy process. Simultaneously, it's one of the most remarkable and spiritual experiences we as humans can observe. Being present when a new soul takes its first breath can often bring spontaneous tears of joy.
I believe we are in a birthing process. I am not of the belief it will be a quick labor but rather drawn out, with lots of heavy breathing, words of encouragement, and maybe even some divine interventions. In the end, we are no doubt standing on the threshold of something uber-Jupiterian! We will need each other. The wave has crested and is about to hit shore; we sail at dawn.
