Cleveland Meteorite

Medina or Bust

It was approximately 9 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 (St. Patrick's Day) that I felt the house rumble. Because we had just gotten a new 2-year-old cat, I brushed it off as the cat jumping off something upstairs and knocking it over. Then, not long after I got a text from a former business partner asking:
"Was your house shaken by that meteor? Ours was..."
Needless to say, that got my attention. I immediately started to comb through social media to see what was being reported. There were stories everywhere. Cleveland had just been buzzed by a 7-ton asteroid traveling 40,000 mph.

This in turn engaged the astrologer side of me because I was well aware that meteorites (or comets) have traditionally been viewed as powerful omens from the gods or heavens, often signaling disaster, the death of rulers, wars, or cosmic imbalance. Different cultures throughout history have had strong beliefs surrounding these astrological events. Among the Greeks and Romans, they were seen as portents of calamity, such as Julius Caesar's deification in 44 BC or Cleopatra's death; Aristotle mistakenly called them atmospheric, delaying scientific understanding. The ancient Chinese called them "broom stars" and attributed them to an imbalance in the "yin-yang". They were meticulously tracked by emperors for 3000 years. In the Aztec and Mesoamerican cultures, meteors were viewed as gods' arrows that could strike people; comets as "smoking stars" heralding rulers' deaths.
In the Bayeux Tapestry there is a depiction of Halley's Comet (1066) as a terrifying omen before the Norman conquest, showing how such events shaped historical narratives.

In contemporary astrology, meteorites are viewed as fleeting, symbolic occurrences associated with abrupt cosmic transformations. They frequently represent swift changes, spiritual insights, or the release of karma. This astrologer is of the belief that these events are deeply meaningful. They seem to be harbingers of change and transformation, and yes, messengers from the cosmos. When considered alongside of all the other historic and once of its kind cosmic alignments taking place in 2026, I am not surprised the meteorites have decided to chime in.
So, as you might imagine, living here in Cleveland, and being a professional astrologer, I had to take a look at what all of this aligned with in the chart of the moment for Cleveland, Ohio at 8:57 am:

Many of you already know, I like to search for meaningful asteroids that may possess significance to an event or a person's life when delineating an astrology chart. I decided to search for three asteroids with names that are connected to the narrative. Those were: Medina, Meteora (closet named asteroid to meteor), and Cleveland. Let's look first at the placement of Medina at 28 degrees and 2 minutes of Scorpio. In broad based astrological interpretation (not strictly mundane), the presence of Medina in Scorpio indicates intense and transformative archetypal energy. When looking into the more nuanced meanings associated with Scorpio, we find in The Rulership Book by Rex Bills, that remarkably, Scorpio is connected to Cleveland, Ohio, iron and things made of iron, lodestones (naturally magnetized pieces of the mineral magnetite), and red, bright or fiery red.

The tightest aspect being made in this moment to Medina is Uranus at 28 degrees and 11 minutes of Taurus. So, in this chart we have the asteroid Medina, the place or county over which it is being reported that the meteorite burned up, in Scorpio, which is associated with intensity, think shaking houses, and also connected with the City of Cleveland, iron and things made of iron, lodestones, and bright or fiery red. This is in direct opposition (an astrological aspect of 180 degrees of separation) to Uranus, a planet associated with sudden events, disruption, air, amazement, astronomy, cornfields (I know, this is an odd one but it is correlated, and I drove to Sharon Corners, Rittman, Medina County areas today, March 18th and trust me there are lots of corn fields in the area), dynamite (its being reported the explosion of this meteor was the equivalent of 250 tons of TNT), electromagnetism (yes, meteorites are brimming with electromagnetic radiation), explosions, flying, and lightening (which is how this meteorite was first detected, as lightening by a NOAA satellite). Hopefully by now you are beginning to see the astrological synchronicity in this moment. But wait, there is much more...
When we look at the sign that Uranus is in at the moment this meteorite bursts across Northeast Ohio's skies, it is floating through Taurus. Here we also find correlation with farms, farmland, cornfields, and livestock. There are reports today that Medina County is crawling with meteorite hunters who are undoubtably encountering the rural farmland found there.

Finally, consider the opposition aspect of the highly correlative planet Uranus and an asteroid sharing the exact name of the county (Medina) where this meteorite made its final descent. Oppositions indicate tension that requires balance. They inherently involve conflicts, with one energy confronting another. In this case, the clear conclusion is that the explosive Uranus encountered the peaceful Medina while it was passing through Scorpio, with all its notable correlations to the actual event.
Focusing on the asteroid Meteora, we discover it positioned at 22 degrees 32 minutes in Aquarius. This sign is governed by Uranus (modern ruler) and is linked to flying, radars, and social matters. Below is a separate chart showing the aspects Meteora forms with the rest of this chart at the time of the event.

Additionally, and not visible in the chart above there exists a tight contra-parallel between the asteroid Meteora and the asteroid Cleveland. More on this in a moment.

In the chart above, we see a T-Square between Uranus, Meteora, and Medina, albeit a wide orb of 5 degrees to Uranus and Medina. Typically, I like to see an orb of 1-2 degrees with asteroids but in listening to a recent podcast by Alex Miller, who is an astrologer who specializes in asteroids, he indicated he often gives a wider orb when the connection to the unfolding event or story is obvious. In this case, having the asteroid named Meteora positioned at the apex of this T-Square is completely in-sync with the actual event involved. The tension between Uranus and Medina show up as a meteorite blazing across the skies on March 17, 2026.
And adding an exclamation point to this, Cleveland and Meteora are in an aspect known as a contra-parallel. This is the equivalent to an opposition. This too creates tension and inner conflict, which in this case was literally between an asteroid Cleveland and Meteora.
It's important to pause here a moment and acknowledge that the two go to planets for meteorite events are typically, Uranus and Mars. As we have already seen Uranus is intimately woven into this narrative. The Uranus connection is shocks and disruptions, and Mars is associated with suddenness, fire, and impacts. This leads to Mars position in the above chart. Mars was at 11 degrees and 46 minutes of Pisces in a square aspect to the asteroid Cleveland at 9 degrees and 48 minutes of Gemini. Another example of perfect correlation. Here is that aspect:

A square involving Mars, the planet of adrenaline, fires, and combustion, is in a conflicting relationship with the asteroid Cleveland, symbolizing friction and discord. Additionally, Cleveland is in a square relationship with the south node of the moon in this chart. The south node has various interpretations, but in this case, it relates to "comfort zones." This situation prompted people in the area to consider "what if" instead of burning up like this meteorite, there had been an impact? Such an event disrupts the usually relaxed St. Patrick's Day atmosphere and makes us reflect. Everything can change in an instant. Oh, and as an aside, asteroid Cleveland was in the sign of Gemini. Interestingly, this is the archetypal energy of all thing's communication. It is also about the media and news, which Cleveland quickly found themselves part of.

There have been numerous recent reports circulating of other meteorite sightings in the United States. Meteors fall daily worldwide but confirmed "meteorite" events (with ground fragments) are rarer; this Ohio one is the standout recent U.S. case. As of this writing there have been confirmed meteorite fragments found. Robert Vargas, a Meteorite Hunter from Connecticut was the first to find an official fragment from the St. Patrick's Day Asteroid Explosion. It weighs 10 grams.
I do not pretend to know the exact interpretation of this event. What I have to go on is historical correlations. Further, I do not live in a world of coincidences. If astrology has taught me anything, and it has taught me a lot, it's all connected and very orderly. I have, along with many other astrologers been writing about the epic astrology of 2026. Interestingly, my opening sentence for my "Astrology of 2026" article was one word... Boomshakalaka! Little did I know how literal that would become. Get ready for the rest of the ride, it's going to be a year to remember.
