~Major Historical Upheavals

Among the many astrological events occurring in April will be two important ingresses, Venus into Gemini on April 23rd and Uranus into Gemini on April 25th. At the onset it's important to understand the two cycles involved and how their intersection has played out throughout history. Uranus spends approximately 7 years in an astrological sign, which means every 84 years it returns to the same sign. Venus on the other hand, due to its much faster motion around the Sun, moves through all 12 signs of the Zodiac in roughly 11-12 months. When you match the motion of Venus with Uranus, we find that Venus will overlap with Uranus about one month yearly. Said differently, when Uranus is transiting through Gemini, Venus visits Gemini annually for 3-4 weeks or roughly 7 months per cycle.
Examining the timeline from the founding of the United States in 1776 up to 2026, we have witnessed Uranus in Gemini during the periods of 1774-1781, 1858-1865, 1941-1949, and soon, from 2025-2033. In 2025, Uranus briefly entered Gemini before retrograding back into Taurus, but it will fully enter Gemini from April 25, 2026, until 2033.
In researching the above periods of Uranus transit through Gemini, the following dates represent times during which Venus and Uranus have met in an exact conjunction:
Period | Exact Dates of Venus conjunct Uranus in Gemini |
1777–1781 | Apr 14, 1777; Jun 1, 1777; Jul 19, 1777; May 20, 1778; Jul 10, 1779; Apr 28, 1780; Jun 15, 1781 |
1859–1864 | Jun 22, 1859; Apr 11, 1860; May 28, 1861; Jul 17, 1862 (x2); May 5, 1863; Jun 23, 1864 |
1942–1949 | Jun 29, 1942; Apr 17, 1943; Jun 5, 1944; Jul 22, 1945; May 12, 1946; Jul 2, 1947; Apr 29, 1948; Jul 4, 1948; Jul 31, 1948; Jun 7, 1949 |
Why does this matter? Historical evidence indicates that during Venus-Uranus conjunctions from 1776 to 1949, there has been a direct link to times of revolution, civil unrest, and global conflict, especially involving the United States. For those with a deeper understanding of history, these periods align with the American Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and World War II. Themes of sudden uprisings, communication failures, and military shifts are intricately connected to this significant transit.
Before delving into the actual world events from the periods mentioned, let's explore the implications of Venus and Uranus intersecting in Gemini. Broadly speaking, this represents the clash of disruption (Uranus) with relationships (Venus) in the realm of ideas (Gemini). Venus governs the energy of attraction, and when combined with Uranus' tendency towards chaos and anarchism, we see revolutionary groups forming around fanaticism, leading to stress and concern globally. Venus also embodies the energy of debate, as does Gemini, and when interacting with Uranus, these typically cooperative and diplomatic exchanges become volatile and explosive. News is filled with shocking events that threaten life's harmony. Restless intermediaries caught in relational dilemmas seek diplomatic exchanges to achieve flexible compromises in uncertain situations.
With that brief explanation of what this combination has correlated with, here is a summary, year-by-year, for the dates listed above for exact conjunctions of Venus and Uranus since 1776:

Jun 7, 1949 | Alger Hiss trial testimony; Red Scare espionage fears peak. |
In reviewing this list, the correlations for the 1777- 1781 period are connected to turning points in the Revolutionary War, like Saratoga and Yorktown, and the 1860s saw a sequence of events, including the commencement and escalation of the Civil War, periods of emancipation, and sieges, all of which contributed to reshaping the Union. Next came the years 1942 - 1949 which lines up with historic moments in World War II such as the Battle of Midway and D-Day. This was also the period during which the atomic age was born, according to Wikipedia, it "began on July 16, 1945. That's the date of the Trinity test, when the U.S. detonated the world's first nuclear bomb in New Mexico". This also was the gateway into the Cold War tensions punctuated by Alger Hiss case and subsequent rise of paranoia.
As can be observed from these developments, it wasn't about a single event but rather groupings of them that are directly correlative with Gemini energies including and not limited to ideas and restlessness that was divisive, rapidly changing technologies and war innovations, and fissures in the fabric of society due to United States focused upheavals and rebellions.
This raises the question of what we should anticipate when we re-enter one of these cycles where echo-like events could resonate globally. As noted, both Venus and Uranus move into the sign of Gemini in April 2026. Uranus will stay there until May 2033. There will be a brief glimpse of Uranus in Cancer from August 3, 2032, to December 12, 2032, before it retrogrades back to Gemini for a final period from December 12, 2032, to May 22, 2033.
Here is a table containing the upcoming dates during which Venus and Uranus will be in a conjunction during the 7-year ingress of Uranus into Gemini. These dates align with Venus's fast orbits catching up to the slower Uranus in the sign.

Before this new cycle ends there will be one last conjunction of Venus and Uranus in the sign of Taurus, occurring on April 23, 2026, at 29 degrees and 53 minutes. This series of conjunctions began on May 18, 2019. Conjunctions in Taurus have been resonant with financial shocks (these can cut both ways with sudden gains and losses, new financial innovations), relational break-ups (this can show up as sudden attractions, breakups, or experimental dynamics challenging stability with individuals and countries)., and value disruptions (this can show up as shifts in security, possessions, or sustainability in a material sense as well as non-material). With this last conjunction taking place at the anaretic degree (29) it's quite possible to see events of an extreme nature as this represents Uranus last grasp on all things Taurus before exploding into Gemini on April 25, 2026. The 29th degree in astrology has always been associated with being a harbinger of change. The window for this portal being opened on April 23, 2026, lasts until the cycle shifts to Gemini on June 13, 2027.

I do not claim to know what this new cycle of Venus and Uranus conjunctions in Gemini might bring. Astrology revolves around recognizing patterns; when this has happened before, we have observed certain outcomes. As mentioned earlier, when Venus's relational energies engage in a dynamic dance with the revolutionary tendencies of Uranus, there is potential for disruptions. Considering Gemini's connection with communication, siblings, the realm of ideas, memory and its loss, perception, restlessness, rumors, and thought, it's clear that introducing Venus and Uranus into these airy subjects can lead to explosive results. As with all archetypal energies, there are two sides. My greatest hope is that this time will be different. In addition to the attributes already mentioned, Uranus is also about awakening and enlightenment. Perhaps this time, some form of liberation or freedom from past patterns will emerge, leading to a new kind of revolutionary peace and balance in world relations. Sudden insights that have previously escaped us may revolutionize our thoughts and perceptions, finally freeing us from the cycle of conflict that has persisted for millennia. This would indeed be a Golden Age...
